Chapter 305 Fired
Chapter 305 Fired
The early spring mornings are still as cold as the twelfth lunar month!
Yunya was half asleep when she heard the train clanging and rattling over the tracks, making the windowpanes tremble.
She curled up in bed, wrapped in the covers, tears still clinging to her eyelashes, but there was nothing she could do; time was running out. It was already 5 a.m., time to get up.
She gritted her teeth and threw off the warm quilt. A blast of cold air rushed in, making her shiver. She quickly put on a thick coat.
"Sigh!" Yun Ya sighed, feeling helpless. She decided to work a full month and get her salary first.
I got up, put on my clothes and cotton shoes, and without even washing my face, grabbed a flashlight and went out of the room.
The area was deserted and quiet. Occasionally, a vegetable vendor's shop had its lights on, presumably because they hadn't returned from their deliveries yet.
A northerly wind was howling, and it was still as cold as winter. Yunya put one hand into her pocket to warm it, and held a flashlight in the other to light her way.
Before long, they arrived at the boss's front door. Yunya took the red woolen rope with the key attached from her neck and reached into the square opening in the door to unlock it.
Unexpectedly, the key was very flexible and opened the lock on the inside of the door in no time. Yunya fixed the bolt and pushed the door open to enter.
Following Li Mei's steps, I pushed the tricycle over and started filling the empty buckets with seafood.
The plastic bucket was full of squid, and Yunya couldn't move it, so she had to put it on the ground and wait for the male boss to get up and move it to the car.
Following the same method, they finished loading all the seafood, and then the male boss got up.
He walked over without saying a word, gesturing with his eyes for Yunya to help carry the large bucket. Yunya, being perceptive, quickly came over to help.
The two loaded several large buckets onto the tricycle, and Yunya began to carry an ordinary red bucket and pour the medicine from the pool into the large buckets.
After finishing all the work, they loaded the shellfish in the basins onto the car.
With all the goods prepared, the male boss started pulling his tricycle to the market. Yunya followed behind, pushing the cart.
Upon arriving at the market, Yunya and the male shop owner began placing seafood products on the sales counter.
At home, the female boss gets up, washes her face, puts on makeup, and dresses the child.
Dian Dian took the money and went out to eat breakfast by herself, while Niu Niu was dropped off at kindergarten by the female boss.
After saying goodbye to Niu Niu, the female boss went directly to her market stall to help sell goods.
The customers who come to buy seafood are mostly regular customers, either those who are buying seafood to try for their own families or those who are purchasing agents.
As usual, the customers paid and had the seller deliver the goods to their car in the parking lot.
Yunya carried two heavy bags of seafood in her left and right hands as she walked slowly towards the parking lot.
Halfway there, Yunya would stop to rest before continuing.
When Yunya finally arrived at the parking lot, she was dumbfounded. Cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycle tricycles were parked everywhere.
She couldn't find which car belonged to Wang Chengjie, and Yunya was so anxious that she scratched her head in frustration.
When she saw the elderly cleaning lady walking towards her, Yunya put the goods on the ground and, as if grasping at a lifeline, quickly ran over to ask the old lady questions.
"Auntie, Auntie, do you remember me? Could you tell me where Mr. Wang Chengjie's pickup truck is?"
The old lady glanced at Yunya, seemingly unsure if she remembered who she was. She casually pointed to a green pickup truck in the south.
"Hey...isn't that there? Do you see it?"
Yunya looked in the direction she was pointing and asked again, "Is it that pickup truck with the bicycle next to it?"
The old lady nodded. "Yes, that's right."
Once Yunya had identified which vehicle it was, she quickly ran back, grabbed the bag, and loaded it onto the pickup truck.
After loading the goods onto the vehicle, Yunya asked the old lady again to confirm which vehicle it was before she breathed a sigh of relief.
After delivering the goods, Yunya was in a much better mood and happily walked back to her stall.
Just like yesterday, they didn't pack up their stall until there weren't many customers left in the market.
Just then, the male boss, nicknamed "Matchstick Man," received a ringing phone. He answered it; it was his boss, Wang Chengjie, calling.
He asked "Matchstick Man" why today's goods hadn't been delivered yet, as he was about to drive back.
The "stick figure," seemingly puzzled, explained, "Mr. Wang, we delivered your car to your address after you paid. Didn't you see it? Look carefully again; maybe it's buried under some other goods."
Wang Chengjie said angrily, "Do you think I would lie to you? Come and find it yourself!"
"Matchstick Man" called Yunya over, then rode his bicycle with her to the parking lot, wanting to confront her face-to-face.
When we arrived at the parking lot, there weren't many cars left; most of the people who had bought all the ingredients had already left.
The "stick figure" parked his bicycle right in front of Boss Wang Chengjie's green pickup truck.
When Boss Wang saw him arrive, he quickly questioned, "Hey Boss Zhang, come over here and check your inventory. See if you have any of the goods I bought today?"
The "stick figure" walked over, skeptical, and searched the area thoroughly, finding no trace of the two bags of seafood.
He turned to look at Yun Ya and asked, "Girl, did you put your delivery in this car today? Did you put it in the wrong car?"
Yunya's mind suddenly felt like it was exploding; she couldn't remember anything.
She could only nod and confirm, "This is the car. I was afraid I'd put the wrong car in, so I asked the cleaning lady three times!"
Just then, the old woman sweeping the floor also came running when she heard the noise. Everyone's eyes turned to her.
Yunya quickly confronted her, "Auntie, this morning I put the goods on this truck and asked you three times if it was this truck. You said it was, right?"
The old lady quickly distanced herself, saying, "I did tell you this car belongs to Boss Wang, but whether you put the wrong car in there, I don't know."
Yun Ya felt scared. If the old woman didn't admit it, and she had seen with her own eyes that she had put the goods on this vehicle, then she would be in a situation where she could never clear her name.
Yunya, seeing that the old lady was both angry and scared, said, "How could I have put it in the wrong car? You clearly pointed it out to me and watched me put it in this car."
The old lady continued to distance herself, saying, "Young lady, you can't wrong me. I'm so busy, how could I have time to watch which truck you put your goods on?"
Yunya was even more frightened. Wasn't this old lady trying to trick her?
This means there are no witnesses, and all the blame falls on her.
Boss Wang Chengjie didn't care whether it was the old lady's fault or Yunya's fault, as long as it didn't affect his use of the goods and he wouldn't lose money if he didn't use them.
So he said to the "stick figure," "Boss Zhang, look at the mess this has made. Anyway, I've already paid, so the goods will stay with you."
Whether you delivered it to the wrong address or didn't deliver it at all, you are responsible for it. You decide what to do!
The stick figure said with a smile, "Boss Wang, don't worry, we'll take care of this. I'll go back and replace it with goods of equal value and send them over to you later."
Wang Chengjie was satisfied, and a smile appeared on his face.
The old lady has long since disappeared.
Having no other choice, "Matchstick Man" drove Yunya back to his stall, weighed seafood of the same price, and personally delivered it to Boss Wang's pickup truck.
The two chatted for a few more minutes, and then Mr. Wang drove off satisfied.
The "stick figure" returned to his stall and said to Yunya, "Let's pack up the stall and go home first."
Yunya obediently tidied up the stall. The female boss didn't say anything, just clicked her tongue twice, and then helped tidy up.
The three of them silently pushed the tricycle home. The atmosphere was extremely tense the whole way.
Upon arriving at the door, the female boss parked the car in the yard and called Yunya to the living room to talk.
The male boss followed closely behind.
Upon entering the house, the two men both looked at Yunya, making her feel flustered and extremely nervous.
The female boss spoke first. She said, "Girl, whether you delivered to the wrong vehicle or not today, you were the one who delivered the goods, so you have to take responsibility for it."
Yunya kept her head down, not daring to argue. But in her heart, she blamed the old woman who swept the floor. It was Yunya who asked her to leave it there, so how could she blame her for not being able to find it? She should blame the old woman.
The male boss also spoke up, "You little girl, you're too young and not very strong. You're no good at work; you can even deliver the wrong item. Don't say anything more, just leave! You can't do our work!"
Yunya felt wronged. It wasn't her fault, so why was she being made to take responsibility? And then she was kicked out. She couldn't hold back her tears any longer and they streamed down her face.
The female boss then said, "Girl, don't cry. We're already being lenient by not making you pay for today's goods, which is already giving your aunt some face. So we won't pay you for the next few days; the money will go towards paying Mr. Wang today."
Yun Ya silently shed tears.
