I've been transported to the orc continent.

Chapter 221 Noodle Soup

Chapter 221 Noodle Soup

A white lion, over a meter tall, had a child sitting on its back. When the child saw Bai Ling and Chen, he shouted at the top of his lungs, "Ling, Chen, your uncle is here! He's in the square right now!"

This year, the tribe built new houses, and the living conditions have improved dramatically. The orcs in the tribe invited relatives from other tribes to come and spend the winter at their homes. Even though the nearby tribes already have heated brick beds, sleeping on a heated brick bed in a cave is definitely not as comfortable as sleeping in a house.

Especially for those whose relatives are elderly or young children, living in a house is even more comfortable.

Bai Ling's uncle Lin just had a cub this year, and Feng specially went to the Red Rock Tribe to invite Lin and his partner to bring the cub to the High Tree Tribe for the winter.

Two orcs set off with him, but returned with a large group of orcs.

Some who were unable to visit the Red Rock Tribe in person asked Feng and the orcs traveling with them to pass on a message, urging their loved ones to come to the High Tree Tribe to spend the winter.

When Bai Ling and Chen returned to the tribe, the tribe's square was bustling with activity. A large group of beastmen were chattering away. Bai Ling quickly spotted her father, who was standing with her uncle Lin. On Lin's shoulder perched a small leopard cat with grayish-yellow fur and dark spots. Its ears were small and triangular, and its brownish-yellow eyes were curiously scanning the surroundings.

Bai Ling hurried a few steps forward and said with a smile, "Uncle, little uncle, you've arrived."

Lin laughed and said, "Yes, your father said your new house is very comfortable, so we came here to spend the winter."

Bai Ling: "Um, Uncle, can I hug my little brother?"

The little leopard cat perched on its father's shoulder, becoming even more curious upon seeing Bai Ling. Its round eyes stared at Bai Ling, but it acted as if it hadn't seen Bai Ling's outstretched hand.

Qu took his son off his partner's shoulders and said, "Zong, this is Brother Ling, and this is Brother Chen." He handed the baby to Bai Ling, but the baby turned away, clearly not wanting Bai Ling to hold him.

Chen said a few words to his uncle, then bent down and took a sweet grass from his basket, waving it in front of Zong's eyes: "Zong, look what this is?"

Because it was too young, Brown had never eaten sweet grass. Unlike the other cubs, it wasn't interested in sweet grass. Its round eyes didn't even look at the sweet grass; instead, it stared at Chen's face.

Seeing that the sweet grass in his hand couldn't attract the cubs, Chen was a little discouraged, but Feng laughed and said, "Alright, let's go home."

When he got home, Lin was so surprised that his mouth dropped open. He walked around every room, his eyes practically popping out of his head.

The orcs who returned to their tribe bragged about the house to the heavens. Lin had also wondered what the house would look like when it was tidied up and habitable, but when he actually saw it, he realized that his imagination was a bit too simplistic.

The house is wonderful; it's practically a place only a beast god could live in.

Lin tidied up both bedrooms and then he and Qu put away all the things they had brought. They were going to stay here for a long time, so they brought everything they needed: animal hides for sleeping, dried meat and vegetables for eating, and clothes for wearing, which filled several baskets.

The cub perched on its father's shoulder, staring wide-eyed at everything in the house. Chen washed a sweet grass, broke off a piece, and handed it to Lin: "Uncle, can Zong eat sweet grass?"

Lin laughed and said, "Sure, it loves to eat fruit."

As he spoke, he held the sweet grass in front of his son's face, and the cub took it without hesitation, holding the sweet grass with its two front paws and began to eat it.

When it took its first bite, the cub's round, brownish-yellow eyes widened immediately, filled with surprise.

Chen laughed and said, "Isn't this delicious? Zong, your brother has a lot more sweet grass, do you want some?" He waved the sweet grass in front of the cub, "Let me hold it for a bit before I give it to you."

The cub opened its round eyes, looked at Chen, then looked down at the sweet grass in its paws, and without hesitation, quickly ate the sweet grass in its paws.

After finishing the sweet grass, the cub finally moved. It stood up, pushed off slightly with its hind legs, and jumped up, landing steadily on Chen's shoulder. Its two front paws firmly gripped Chen's hair.

Chen was so frightened that he didn't dare to jump over like that. He was so scared that he didn't dare to move. He lowered his shoulder slightly on the side where he was crouching and called out to Lin, "Uncle, it just jumped over like that. I don't dare to move."

Lin quickly reached out and supported the cub's body, while reassuring Chen, "It's okay. Leopard cat cubs are naturally very good at jumping. When Brown was at home, he liked to jump around on our shoulders. He'll be fine."

Chen breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good."

The addition of a cub immediately brought a lot of liveliness to the house. The beastmen genuinely loved the cub, and Bai Ling specially made noodles to welcome the Lin family.

This time I made noodle soup.

Cut the game meat into cubes, soak the freshly dried vegetables in water, cut the leafy greens into strips, heat the pan and add the game fat, and once the game fat is ready, add the chopped green onions and diced game meat and stir-fry together. Then add half a spoonful of sauce and the soaked dried vegetables and stir-fry. Finally, add the leafy greens.

After stir-frying for a few seconds, add water, and once the water boils, you can add the noodles.

This is the simplest way to make soup noodles, but it tastes quite good. At Chen's request, Bai Ling also stir-fried some soybean paste, which anyone who likes can add.

This was Lin Hequ's first time eating noodles, or rather, his first time eating noodle products.

Before the noodles were even out of the pot, the two were drawn in by the aroma wafting from it. It wasn't that they hadn't smelled the aroma of stir-fried or stewed meat before; it was just that the addition of soybean paste gave the stir-fried meat a unique fragrance.

The aroma of soy sauce has always been a strong one, and even if you smell it for the first time, you will subconsciously think that this flavor is very good.

It's not just the aroma of the sauce; the noodles also have a unique fragrance. Although flour itself has almost no flavor, once it's made into noodle products, its aroma becomes rich and intense, creating a flavor that can't be ignored.

Even the still innocent cubs, upon smelling this aroma, were oblivious, their two round eyes fixed intently on the noodles being served.

If even the cubs are like this, then the adults are even more so. Lin and Qu had never eaten noodles before, but they were already attracted by the smell alone.

The noodles are smooth, soft, and fragrant. One bite and you feel completely comfortable, with a warm current spreading from your stomach to every part of your body. It's incredibly soothing.

The weather is starting to get cold now, and the temperature drops sharply at night. Eating a few bowls of hot soup noodles is definitely a great treat.
