Chapter 181 Settlement
Chapter 181 Settlement
Chu Deng was the first to climb the slope, and this was the scene that greeted him.
Chang Gui, covered in mud, was stuck fast and unable to move. The white ape in the air was like a mountain pressing down on him, ready to deliver a fatal blow.
Chu Deng gently kicked the vines at her feet, and the Fire Tree understood immediately. Its thick roots moved with lightning speed, protecting Chang Gui in the blink of an eye.
Chu Deng coordinated, and a palm formed from flames appeared in the air, slamming the white ape that was suspended in mid-air to the ground.
The white ape let out a miserable cry, its fur burned black, its crimson eyes glaring angrily as it bared its teeth at Chu Deng, who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Hey..." Jin Dahai, who had just climbed up, was holding his back and catching his breath. He was about to say a few words to Chu Deng when he saw a messy scene.
Across from us was a snarling gibbon, its ferocious appearance fully revealed. Half of its body was burned black. At its feet, a young man was entangled in tree roots, covered in mud, his face obscured, only his labored breathing could be heard. He was still alive. Nearly fifty meters away, a person was hidden by layers of thorns, only his shadow visible. He was half-bent over, like a scarecrow in the field, and it was clear he was exhausted.
Only Chu Deng in front of him looked refreshed and composed, as if he had everything under control, even from behind.
"At such a young age, he already has the demeanor of a great general. Xiao Deng has a bright future ahead of him!" Jin Dahai thought to himself, while silently retreating by stepping on the vines. He was very self-aware and knew that his priority was to protect himself and not hold Chu Deng back, so as not to delay Chu Deng's rescue.
"Can you move?" Chu Deng breathed a sigh of relief, relieved that Chang Gui hadn't died in front of him, and asked in a relatively friendly manner.
"...Can you lend me a hand?" After being rescued, Chang Gui assumed that the other party was an ally and did not stand on ceremony with Chu Deng.
Chu Deng nodded, used his toes to lift the tree roots that were entangled with Chang Gui, and pulled the person up.
The tree root around Chang Gui's waist tightened, causing his vision to go black. He flailed his outstretched hand wildly, staggered to his feet, and took a couple of steps before regaining his balance. He was still reeling from his near-death experience, feeling like his soul was about to leave his body.
Chu Deng shook her head, seeing that Chang Gui didn't seem to have any fighting ability left, and patted the vines in her hand, "Let's pack them up and take them with us."
The vines brushed against Chu Deng, then quickly retracted, binding Chang Gui into a mummy-like shape, leaving only an opening for air. They meant it when they said they would pack him up, not caring about the mud on his body. Once he was wrapped up, they pulled him down the hillside, adding a railing for Jin Dahai who was already descending the mountain.
"Thank you," Jin Dahai said politely, amused as he watched the vines wave at him like a person, then busily carrying the wriggling mummified creature down the mountain. He couldn't help but chuckle for a long time.
After the elderly, weak, sick, and disabled left the scene, Chu Deng turned her attention to the white ape. While she was settling the two people, the white ape was also observing Chu Deng.
Seeing the earth-type ability user fly away, it didn't rush to rush over, mainly because Chu Deng's aura was too strong, and it felt it couldn't beat him.
When the white ape finally met Chu Deng's eyes, those eyes, as red as its own, seemed to be blazing with flames. The ape tensed up, couldn't help but bar its teeth, and couldn't control the trembling of its facial muscles. Its face struggled, sometimes ferocious and sometimes calm.
"Heh...heh, heh!" It made a threatening sound unconsciously, but its voice was trembling. Its nerves were on edge, and it had even stopped attacking the earth spikes that were meant to attack Xie Xingzhou.
Xie Xingzhou frowned and looked over, puzzled.
In the end what happened?
The wind is coming.
A howling wind swept by, carrying a murderous aura that engulfed the white ape.
The white ape's fur stood on end, its eyes darting around, staring intently at Chu Deng. Before Chu Deng even made a move, it was already scared half to death.
Chu Deng curled the corners of her lips; she hadn't expected the white ape to be so cooperative.
Finally, unable to bear it any longer, Xie Xingzhou started walking this way, only to see the white ape bend down, put its hands on the ground, and bury its head deeply in its chest.
That is!
Xie Xingzhou stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
Submission! The white ape was showing weakness to the person in front of it.
"Who exactly are you?" Xie Xingzhou stepped forward and asked, but he didn't expect the white ape, who had already submitted, to suddenly attack him.
"Roar!!!" The white ape roared and charged at Xie Xingzhou, its two long arms tightening around Xie Xingzhou's neck.
The water shield around Jie Xingzhou's neck couldn't hold and suddenly shattered, but it relieved some of the force, giving him time to react, allowing him to grab the white ape's arm and catch his breath.
"Ah!!!" Xie Xingzhou shouted as he pried open the white ape's arm, his face turning bright red. At this critical moment, his superpower actually loosened, and all his strength poured into his arm. The water that flowed from his arm slithered and seeped into the white ape's body like snakes.
The pervasive liquid enveloped the white ape and seeped into its body.
Chu Deng held his breath. He had been unable to make a move earlier due to interference, but he didn't want to make a move now. Jie Xingzhou was breaking through!
Crimson flames silently enveloped a bird in the tree. The frightened little titmouse huddled in a ball, too afraid to utter a sound.
Xie Xingzhou felt as if he had entered a wonderful state. He dared not relax his hands for a moment, but his supernatural power flowed smoothly into the white ape's body. With just one command from him, he could make the white ape die a gruesome death.
The feeling was so wonderful that Xie Xingzhou was itching to try it.
Chu Deng narrowed her eyes and took a few steps back.
"Roar! Hoo-ho!!" The white ape's face was contorted, but for some reason it couldn't move. The ground beneath its feet kept sinking deeper as it struggled, trying to sink into the earth to escape its helpless state.
"Explode!!!" Sensing the white ape's unusual movement, Xie Xingzhou, fearing he wouldn't be able to hold on for long, immediately activated the fluid that had seeped into the white ape's body.
"boom!!!!"
A flash of blue light, and blood and flesh splattered like fireworks, blasting the white ape to pieces.
"Chirp!" The titmouse let out a mournful cry, wailing for its dead leader.
"Whoosh, whoosh—" Hundreds of birds took flight in fright from the distant woods.
"Roar! Roar!" The monkeys fighting the superhumans in the distance roared, slowly stopping their attacks and beginning to retreat.
With the fall of the "Monkey King," Chu Deng held the little sparrow in her hand. The little creature had ambushed her with a wind blade while the white ape had submitted, and in that moment of distraction, the white ape attacked Xie Xingzhou.
Fortunately, Xie Xingzhou lived up to expectations and broke through at the critical moment, using his water-based superpowers to blow up the white ape.
"Congratulations." Chu Deng looked at Xie Xingzhou, who was immersed in the joy of his breakthrough, and said softly.
Xie Xingzhou paused for a moment, then subconsciously replied, "Thank you." Coming to his senses, he hesitantly asked Chu Deng, "Who are you?"
"Just passing by, Chu Deng from the Hai City Superpower Base is on another mission."
"Thank you for your assistance, Xie Xingzhou from the Wushi Superpower Base." Xie Xingzhou said politely, just as he was wondering whether to invite Chu Deng to check the rear, when he saw Chu Deng holding a chubby little bird. "What's this?" He glanced at the small, reddish-black, white-tinged ball of fluff, somewhat curious.
"The guide," Chu Deng replied, then called out to those behind her, "Uncle Jin, we're going to find monkey wine."
"They're here." Jin Dahai poked his head out and saw the blood all over the ground, plus a man in uniform. He immediately understood that Chu Deng had resolved the matter and that the victory settlement phase was about to begin.
Xie Xingzhou understood immediately. His lips twitched. The main reason was that the group of idle mountain explorers who were on their way to the rescue had only come because they had heard about the monkey wine. As soon as Jin Dahai mentioned it, he guessed that the two of them had the same purpose.
Fortunately, Chu Deng, one of the two, is incredibly strong. A superhuman who can make the white ape show weakness must be at least level three or higher, so they don't need to worry about him.
"Add each other on the phone, and we can have a meal together sometime." Xie Xingzhou raised his wrist, not stopping the two of them. If he weren't needed back home, he would have really wanted to go along and see if the wine was any good.
Chu Deng and Jin Dahai bid farewell to Xie Xingzhou and continued walking into the mountains.
Holding a small titmouse in his hand to guide the way, Chu Deng called upon Wu Yun to help translate the bird's language.
"Caw caw!" The dark cloud landed on Chu Deng's shoulder. It had just gone to scout ahead and was still a little grumpy because it hadn't participated in the battle. It pecked at the little sparrow a few times.
"Woo-woo-woo" The little titmouse's feathers stood on end, making it look like a glutinous rice ball, and it let out a threatening cry.
Jin Dahai looked at the two birds and wondered if he should raise one too; it seemed like a lot of fun.
Threatened by the dark clouds, the little titmouse led the way. The two people and two birds passed through the woods, climbed the mountain, traversed several small mountain paths, and finally arrived at their destination after passing through another grove of trees.
"Swish—" The vines came rushing over from behind, and the Fire Tree, having finished its work, arrived carrying its flowerpot.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa..."
The waterfall cascades down from the sky, and the spray that hits you is refreshing and invigorating, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere.
