Chapter 502 Lucien
Chapter 502 Lucien
(He raised his head and looked towards the top of the temple - the direction of Lin Ci'an's bedroom.)
(The truth...is about to come to light.)
(And he must ensure that Lin Ci'an... tears open the seal with his own hands.)
---
(That night, the Holy Son's bedroom)
Lin Ci'an stood in front of the window, his fingertips unconsciously stroking a golden badge - that was the one Chu Ziyu had left for him.
Outside the window, the moonlight is like water.
And in his eyes, darkness and holy light intertwined, surging into chaos.
(He had to find out.)
(Temple Dungeon Shadow Corridor)
The damp air was filled with the smell of rust and rotting wood, and the dim light from the torches cast flickering shadows on the stone walls.
Lucien Krono walked down the steps slowly, the hem of his black inquisitor's robe brushing against the mottled bloodstains. His silver-gray pupils flickered slightly behind the mask, and his fingertips stroked the scratches on the wall that were deliberately covered up - six in a group, like the claw marks of some beast, but mixed with the traces of struggle of human nails.
(As expected, it’s here…)
He stopped in front of a rusty iron door and took out a dark gold pocket watch from his pocket. There was a line of small words engraved on the inside of the watch cover:
"Dedicated to the star that never extinguishes - Irene"
"Click."
The sound of the pocket watch gears turning was particularly clear in the silence, and the sealing runes on the iron door dimmed for a moment.
Lucien pushed the door open and walked in, but froze in place the moment he raised his eyes.
In the interrogation room that should have been empty, Aaron Cyphers was sitting on a bloodstained wooden chair, his mask slung diagonally across his knees, his heterochromatic pupils glowing coldly in the darkness.
(Although Aaron is free to move around during the day, he has to return to the dungeon at night. After all, he is a branded traitor.)
"Your Excellency the Judge." Aaron slowly wiped the bloody dagger, "Visiting the dungeon late at night... are you here to confess, or to silence someone?"
Lucien's fingertips silently grasped the hidden weapon in his sleeve. He noticed a new wound on Aaron's neck - the edge of the wound was a strange blue-purple color, as if it was caused by a sword.
Lucien was so focused on his wound that he didn't respond in time.
Aaron suddenly chuckled and nailed the dagger into the wooden table with a clang: "Then you should take a look at this."
He threw a roll of yellowed parchment from his arms. The moment Lucien unfolded it, his emerald pupils shrank sharply.

Chu Yuntian’s private seal was stamped on the lower right corner of the parchment.
"Do you think Lady Irene is just imprisoned?"
Aaron's voice seemed to be icy. "Her heart is beating in the incubator under the monastery... and every drop of her blood is used to make the potion to control the Son of God."
Lucien's knuckles turned white from clenching his fists. He suddenly understood why the seal on Lin Ci'an's memory could never be broken - it was not a spell at all, but a curse at the blood level.
"This is the Church you want to be loyal to!"
Lucien ignored Aaron's cold words, walked up to him and took off his mask.
Lucien Krono's fingertips lingered on Aaron's stigmata, and the distance between the two was so close that their breathing intertwined.
Aaron's heterochromatic pupils shrank slightly in the dim firelight, but he did not retreat.
"You reversed the stigmata for me back then. Was it to save me..." Aaron's voice was low and dangerous, "or was it to use me?"
Lucien's silver-gray eyes flickered, and the corners of his mouth raised a hint of a smile: "Sir Knight, what kind of answer do you want?"
Aaron grabbed his wrist with such force that it almost broke his bones. "Don't play tricks like that."
Lucien just sighed softly, and put his other hand on the edge of Aaron's mask, his fingertips brushing his jaw vaguely: "It's been three years...you are still so dishonest."
The air suddenly became tense.
