Chapter 1767 - 1781: Sweet Burden (Part 3)

Gradually, another half month passed, and during the next prenatal check-up, the weaker child indeed seemed a bit stronger than before. However, the child was still much weaker compared to a typical child.

Meanwhile, the sibling next to him/her was growing quite healthily, already four months old, and starting to be larger in size. Overall, the two babies seemed pretty healthy, and after Jian Anning completed this check-up, her heart felt much more at ease.

Her pregnancy was now roughly at the four-month mark, a true indication of mid-pregnancy, and her nausea had significantly improved. Whenever she wasn’t feeling nauseous, she felt as hungry as a bear coming out of hibernation, ready to eat a whole cow.

Seeing her gradually regain her appetite, the Yu Family also felt relieved. To make up for the little she ate during the first three months, Jian Anning was now making up for it excessively. Eating big meals with fish and meat wasn’t enough; she consumed large amounts of stews and broths as well.

In those initial months, Jian Anning was skinny like an African refugee, but now, just hitting the four-month mark, she started ballooning up like an inflated balloon. Her weight increased proportionately with her belly, both becoming quite round. Radiating with oily smoothness and a rosy complexion, she looked much more healthy compared to her previous skeletal figure.

This time, it was evident to everyone that she was definitely pregnant with twins!

Yet, despite the positive prenatal checks recently, nothing is certain until they reach six months; worries lingered whether the two babies were completely healthy. Both were anxious, fearing any problem with the babies inside her belly.

Meanwhile, Yu Zexiao began a new job, busier than ever, taking roles that involved shooting scenes outside, overwhelmed with the workload.

True to his word, he hired a young man in his twenties and an older lady in her forties as his assistants, letting them handle his daily work. Moreover, he specifically asked Jian Anning to approve their hiring, ensuring she saw the two assistants he chose.

Jian Anning understood his intentions perfectly, surprised yet pleased with his transparency. Yu Zexiao was scheduled to film outdoor scenes for over a month, and a month later when he returned home, Jian Anning had changed drastically.

By the time she was nearly six months pregnant, her belly had grown larger, transforming her into a round and radiant image of abundance!

Fortunately for Jian Anning, she had been far too skinny in earlier months; even though she gained weight during this period, compared to herself earlier, she did become heavier, yet remained within the normal range for pregnant women.

"Have I become unattractive?" Jian Anning was delighted when Yu Zexiao returned, but after the initial joy, it turned into deep concern.

What if Yu Zexiao disliked her for gaining weight?

Rumor had it that pregnancy-induced weight was difficult to shed, too worried about the babies being undernourished she had eaten more, with the Yu Family also concerned for the baby’s nutrition, urging her to eat more.

She dared not step on the scale, unsure how much she had gained — a lot, surely.

Yu Zexiao looked her up and down, studied her for a while before nodding, "Yes, you’ve gained some weight."

Jian Anning’s eyes immediately welled up, but Yu Zexiao’s next words healed her, "But I think you look better now!"
