Chapter 2 A different world
Chapter 2 A different world
Since reaching an agreement, Xie Shiyun has truly become a hardworking new editor. Although she is still relatively inexperienced, she is confident that with hard work, she will be able to realize her dreams.
Back home, she instantly sat down at her computer and began typing furiously, quickly completing the assignment from the publisher. Hey, the publisher wanted her to write another contemporary romance novel, with quite a few requirements: no melodramatic plots, and not too simplistic. What's so difficult about that? She's a seasoned pro, her experience and writing skills are top-notch—writing it is a piece of cake! She adjusted her glasses, flashed a sweet smile, and had already planned out the story's structure and outline: "The male lead, Song Zhe, a chosen one..." She mumbled as she rapidly typed, pinpointing each character's name precisely. Suddenly, she seemed to remember something she hadn't done—oh no! The gas stove in the kitchen had been on the whole time, from when she came in until 1 a.m. This was bad! She faintly smelled a gas leak and her heart clenched. She struggled to get up to check, but found herself completely limp, her legs weak, and she lost her balance, collapsing to the ground and passing out…
Lancheng —
"Young Master, Miss has woken up. You should go and see her quickly. I think her expression is a bit off." Upon hearing the butler's words, he immediately got up and rushed upstairs to his room. He missed her terribly and really wanted to see her.
Pushing open the door, Xie Shiyun found a young girl sitting on the bed, looking around blankly at everything, including the people. She was utterly bewildered; one moment she was typing away at her computer, the next she was in this strange world. She suddenly remembered the gas leak in the room that had caused her to faint, thinking she would wake up in the hospital. But this…
However, everything in front of me was too exquisite, too dreamlike. The room was decorated in such a girly style, the furniture was all European style, and the furnishings looked expensive. How did I end up in a place like this? Did someone come in while I was unconscious? Was I kidnapped?
The man before me was even stranger. He sat beside me, watching me. His fair, smooth face possessed a sharp, cold handsomeness; his thick eyebrows arched slightly in a rebellious manner, and beneath his long, slightly curled eyelashes, his dark, deep eyes exuded a wild, untamed, and alluringly sexy charm. He wore a suit and a sophisticated CK minimalist stainless steel watch on his wrist, clearly displaying his illustrious family background and impeccable taste. "Who are you? Why am I here?" Xie Jue looked at him warily, her body involuntarily taking a step back.
The man frowned slightly and said, "A-Yun, don't you remember me? I'm Shi Yue!"
"What did you just call me?" Xie Shiyun asked, puzzled. "You called me A-Yun?!"
"Your name is Xie Shiyun. My name is Fu Shiyue."
I have absolutely no recollection of this person. Who is it?
Fu Shiyue walked to the bedside, half-squatted down, took her hand, and said gently, "It's okay. You might be a little groggy from just waking up. I'll have the doctor check you out. You should rest well first, and call me if you need anything." After saying that, he gently kissed her forehead and then left the room.
Xie Shiyun was immediately stunned; she couldn't understand why this man was being so intimate with her. Once she recovered, she resolved to find out the whole story.
What are they doing? Filming a movie?
"Don't you remember me? A-Yun, I am Shi Yue, your fiancé, Fu Shi Yue." His tone softened as he said this, and his eyes were full of doting affection as he looked at her.
He looked at her, then said to the others around him, "You all go down first, Ah Yun and I still have something to talk about."
The maid and the butler obediently left after hearing his words, leaving only the two of them in the room. He stepped forward and gently stroked her hair. "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. Get some sleep, and I'll tell you what happened when you wake up, okay?"
Xie Shiyun felt somewhat confused, but she knew she couldn't openly confront him; she could only try to figure out what was going on. She nodded, her expression blank yet obedient.
She lay down and closed her beautiful eyes.
Seeing the man leave, she opened her eyes again, looking at the extremely unfamiliar environment before her.
Could I be possessed by an evil spirit, or have I been transported to another world? Logically speaking, the first possibility is very small, so it can only be the second one: I have arrived in another world!
She frantically searched the room, hoping to find any clues that might be related to her identity. Finally, her gaze fell on the pink diary on the table, and a glimmer of hope ignited in her heart. She carefully opened the diary, expecting to discover some secrets about herself, but all she saw was a blank page, and her heart sank to the bottom.
Except for the first two characters: Xie Shiyun.
These two characters were like a riddle, filling her heart with doubt and unease. She stared intently at them, trying to decipher some information from them. She silently repeated the name "Shi Yun" in her heart, as if it were a key that could unlock the mystery of her origins.
Her heart pounded faster and faster, and various guesses flashed through her mind. Was this "Xie Shiyun" the same person as her, or an important figure? Or perhaps a code? Countless questions arose in her mind, but she could find no answers.
She felt a nameless fear, afraid that she would never be able to unravel this mystery, never understand her true self. However, she did not give up. She clutched the diary tightly, determined to find more clues and solve the mystery.
The woman stared incredulously at the two words before her. This body's name was also Xie Shiyun. The name was exactly the same. Hesitantly, she walked to the mirror. The woman in the mirror horrified her; her face was identical to her own, as if she had seen a ghost!
Fu Shiyue, CEO of the Gu Group, is the most powerful man in Lancheng. His group is vast, and he possesses both power and wealth. Numerous women are enamored with him, yet he remains indifferent. He is like an iceberg, unyielding and unapproachable.
Xie Shiyun was found by Fu Shiyue in the bushes of a street twelve years ago. She was an abandoned baby, her origins shrouded in mystery, and no one could prove her true identity. The only proof of her identity was the necklace she wore around her neck, engraved with her name. Rumors about her were rampant; some said she was the illegitimate daughter of the Fu family's young master, while others said she was his secret lover. Opinions varied, and no conclusion could be reached.
Later, with a little trickery, the rumors disappeared without a trace, and they didn't cause her any psychological harm. But he didn't dislike her because of those rumors; on the contrary, he doted on her immensely, cherishing her like a precious treasure. He watched her grow up healthy and strong, and the little girl he held in his palm finally grew into a young woman!
Three days later...
At seven o'clock in the morning, the Fu family
Fu Shiyue and Xie Shiyun sat together at a long table eating breakfast. Xie Shiyun was dressed casually today, in a T-shirt and jeans. The table was full of various breakfast items. Looking at them, she couldn't help but sigh, "Eating so much, I'm going to gain weight again." Fu Shiyue smiled when he heard this, "You're not fat at all, eat more." As he spoke, he picked up a piece of Shiyun's favorite pastry and put it in her bowl.
Xie Shiyue looked at the pastries in the bowl, feeling a warmth in her heart. She looked up at Fu Shiyue, "You should eat some too."
The two smiled at each other and continued to enjoy their cozy breakfast time.
After breakfast, Fu Shiyue led Xie Jue to the garden. The garden was filled with various flowers in bloom, their fragrance filling the air.
"Wow, so beautiful!" Xie Shiyun excitedly ran over and bent down to smell the fragrance of the flowers.
Fu Shiyue stood quietly to the side, watching Xie Shiyun's cheerful figure, and a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.
"Shi Yue, thank you." Xie Shiyun suddenly turned her head and looked at Fu Shiyue.
Fu Shiyue stepped forward and gently put his arm around Xie Shiyun. "No need to thank me, it's all I should do. As long as you're happy, I'm satisfied."
Xie Shiyun leaned against Fu Shiyue's chest, feeling his warmth. She knew she wasn't alone in this unfamiliar world, because Fu Shiyue was always there for her.
She suddenly felt the care from her family. Her parents had left early, leaving her all alone. Xie Shiyun looked up, her eyes shining with determination. "Shiyue, I want to find my memories." Fu Shiyue gently stroked her cheek, giving her an encouraging smile. "I will search with you."
In the Stylan car, Fu Shiyue and she sat in the back. "I'll take you to school now, then I'll go to the company. I'll have Lao Pan pick you up after school this afternoon."
"Are you coming back tonight?" she asked him, looking at him as she spoke.
“Silly girl, of course I went back, that’s our home.” He pinched her nose. “Ah Yun, you’re so cute.”
As evening fell, Xie Shiyun returned home early, waiting for Fu Shiyue's return. She had prepared a sumptuous dinner, wanting to surprise him. The clock struck eight, and familiar footsteps sounded outside the door. A joyful smile spread across her face. Fu Shiyue entered the house and saw the candlelight and delicious food on the table, a wave of emotion washing over him. He walked behind Xie Shiyun and gently embraced her. "Thank you, you've worked hard." The two sat down to enjoy dinner, sharing their day's experiences. After dinner, they sat on the sofa, and Fu Shiyue handed Xie Shiyun a document. "These are some clues I found about your background; perhaps they will help you recover your memories." Xie Shiyun excitedly took the document and began to read it carefully. Hope shone in her eyes. "I will definitely try my best to regain my memories and figure out my origins." Fu Shiyue held her hand, offering her support and encouragement. "No matter the outcome, I will always be by your side." On this beautiful night, they nestled together, their hearts filled with anticipation for the future.
It's strange. We all look exactly alike, but sometimes I feel like none of these things belong to me. It's like some memories don't belong to me, but they still pop up, like a dream. A feeling that's sometimes real and sometimes unreal.
The morning of the second day
Lost in thought, she arrived at the school. Looking at the large sign that read "Lancheng Institute of Technology," Xie Shiyun stepped into the campus, feeling a mix of familiarity and strangeness. She found her classroom according to her schedule, sat down, and opened her bag, only to discover an unfamiliar notebook inside.
Curious, she opened the notebook and saw a line written on the title page: "This is your journey of memories."
Below were diary entries, recording the little things in a girl's life. Xie Shiyun read them carefully; the words seemed to possess a magical power, gradually awakening memories buried deep within her heart...
"Shi Yun, you're finally back! You're so unfair, you didn't even tell me you were back." The woman speaking had long hair draped over her back, loosely tied back with a pink ribbon, and wore black clothes; she looked very cool.
"Jiayue, I..." She also felt strange; why could she subconsciously call out her name even though she didn't know her?
The girl in front of Xie Shiyun was named Gu Jiayue. Xie Shiyun looked puzzled, trying hard to recall anything about Gu Jiayue. Gu Jiayue seemed to sense her distress and gently patted Xie Shiyun's shoulder, comforting her, "Don't worry, take your time. You just got back, you might need some time to adjust." Xie Shiyun looked at Gu Jiayue gratefully and nodded. Just then, the school bell rang, interrupting their conversation. The teacher entered the classroom and began the lesson. Xie Shiyun decided to put aside her questions for the time being and listen attentively. After class, Xie Shiyun found Gu Jiayue and asked, "Jiayue, were we very good friends before?" Gu Jiayue smiled and said, "Of course! We grew up together, we're best friends. Have you forgotten?" Xie Shiyun frowned; she had no recollection of anything Gu Jiayue said. But she could sense that Gu Jiayue was sincere, and she decided to believe her. "Could you tell me about our past?" Xie Shiyun looked earnestly at Gu Jiayue. Gu Jiayue readily agreed and began to recount the wonderful times they had spent together. As Gu Jiayue narrated, some blurry images gradually surfaced in Xie Shiyun's mind. Although incomplete, she could feel the deep friendship they shared. Xie Shiyun was filled with anticipation; she hoped to recover all her memories as soon as possible and rekindle that lost friendship.
"It's okay, take your time, you'll remember your memories." She gently patted Xie Shiyun and smiled slightly.
After class, Gu Jiayue held her hand all the way home, telling her many things that happened outside the academy. She recalled her past here, but her memories were somewhat blurry and difficult to recall clearly. She truly felt as if she were in another world, surrounded by unfamiliar people and unfamiliar surroundings... everything was both real and unreal, like a dream.
