Chapter 215 Lost in the Wilderness.

Chapter 215 Lost in the Wilderness.

Jun Luochuan and Su Yao barely managed to escape the vicious pursuit of the mysterious organization, but in their panicked and desperate escape, they were like two headless flies, lost in a vast and seemingly endless wilderness.

All around were endless, withered yellow grasses, shivering in the bleak wind, rustling softly as if the wilderness were whispering its endless loneliness and desolation, like a mournful requiem. The sky was covered with dark clouds, the thick clouds like a giant black curtain, pressing down heavily, so oppressive it was almost suffocating, as if the whole world was shrouded in this somber gloom.

"Where is this? It seems we've fallen into a maze with no way out." Su Yao looked bewildered, her expression like that of a lost fawn, her voice trembling with fear.

Jun Luochuan frowned, his brows furrowing like two tightly knit mountains. His gaze, sharp as a hawk's, scanned the surroundings, trying to find even the slightest hint of familiarity in this unfamiliar wilderness. "Hmph, what's there to be afraid of? We're just temporarily blinded by the fog of this wilderness." His tone carried a hint of stubbornness and defiance.

Su Yao pouted, her lips pursed so high they looked like they could hold a small oil bottle. "You're so stubborn. If we keep failing to get out of here, are we going to become wandering ghosts in this desolate wilderness?"

Jun Luochuan rolled his eyes at her, his gaze seeming to shoot out icy arrows. "With me here, I won't let this terrible situation happen. Don't act like a coward and just complain."

They continued onward, their steps uneven, the ground beneath their feet becoming increasingly muddy. Each step felt like sinking into a sticky swamp, requiring considerable effort to pull their feet out.

"Ugh, my shoes are all covered in this awful mud, it's absolutely terrible," Su Yao complained as she looked at her muddy shoes.

Jun Luochuan said irritably, "What time is it? You're still worrying about your precious shoes. When it comes to life and death, none of that matters."

As they walked, they came to a river that was as turbulent as an angry dragon. The river roared and surged, splashing up white waves, like countless ferocious beasts baring their fangs and claws.

"How can we possibly cross this? It's an insurmountable barrier!" Su Yao stared at the surging river, her face showing distress, her eyes filled with helplessness and fear.

Jun Luochuan pondered for a moment, the brief silence seeming to freeze time itself. "Don't panic, let's see if there's a way to cross the river."

They searched laboriously along the riverbank, their steps heavy and slow, but they found no trace of a bridge or shallows, as if the river was deliberately blocking their way.

"Are we really going to be trapped here forever, never to get out?" Su Yao's voice was choked with sobs, her cries sounding particularly desolate in the empty wilderness, like a desperate lament.

Jun Luochuan gritted his teeth, his resolute face as hard as a stone sculpture. "Don't be afraid. Even if the sky falls, I will find a way to hold it up."

Just then, a muffled clap of thunder suddenly resounded in the sky, the sound like the roar of an ancient beast, deafeningly loud. Immediately afterwards, large raindrops, like a dense rain of arrows, poured down, instantly enveloping the entire world in a curtain of water.

"Oh no, this is adding insult to injury, this is a huge problem." Jun Luochuan's face became even more serious, as if water could drip from it.

They frantically searched for shelter from the rain, but all around them was an empty, exposed wilderness. The icy rain relentlessly pelted them, quickly turning them into two pitiful drowned rats.

"It's so cold, I feel like I'm going to be frozen into an ice sculpture." Su Yao shivered, her petite body trembling like a leaf in the wind and rain.

Without hesitation, Jun Luochuan took off his coat and gently draped it over Su Yao. Although the movement was a little stiff, it was full of concern. "Bear with it. We'll think of something when the rain stops."

In the raging storm, their vision blurred, and the world before them seemed to transform into a chaotic ink painting. Their already weak sense of direction was now completely disrupted, like a lone boat lost on a vast ocean...
