Chapter 216 Huashan
Chapter 216 Huashan
Wen Qing decided to stay in Chang'an for a few more days. She had worked very hard in the past two years. Now the things she was doing were basically sorted out, and the operations of several companies were on track, so she planned to travel around this time.
She stayed in Chang'an for two days. She went to the city to see the Big and Small Wild Goose Pagodas and the Banpo Museum, which she had not visited last time. She also visited the Taoist temple Louguantai in the surrounding area, and the Sunset at Mount Li, one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Guanzhong, and ate a lot of local snacks.
That morning, Wen Qing checked out of the hotel, went to the gas station to fill up the gas, and drove towards Huashan. Huashan is not far from Chang'an and it only takes more than two hours to drive there. After parking the car, she bought a ticket to enter the mountain.
Huashan is the westernmost of the Five Great Mountains and is known as "the most dangerous mountain in the world". It was formed more than 7000 million years ago during the Yanshanian period of the Cenozoic Era. As the earth's crust rose, the granite faults of Huashan were gradually raised, forming the current majestic peaks and strangely shaped rocks.
Standing at the foot of the mountain, Wen Qing looked up and saw towering cliffs, majestic peaks, and a rugged mountain path. She did not walk along the mountain path in the scenic area, but instead passed through the woods and climbed up along the valley.
The way up the mountain was very difficult to walk on. There were only some stone holes carved out by predecessors on the bare mountain wall where people could stand. Wen Qing did not bring a rope, but with his great skills and courage, he used his hands and feet to climb to a place called Dashangfang. He came out of a cave and saw a small house in front of him. He went around the small house and climbed up again. It was estimated that the mountain wall along the way was about 60 degrees.
She leaned against the mountain wall to rest for a while, then went around the back of the mountain wall and continued to climb up. As the altitude increased, the woods gradually became sparse. She climbed up a hillside and searched for a while, but found that there was no upward mountain path. Looking at the North Peak in the distance, she could only go down the mountain and head towards the valley.
Going down the mountain is more difficult than going up. Wen Qing used her internal energy, poured strength into her legs and slowly stepped down. Although her speed was not fast, she slid down steadily. She was very focused all the way, just staring at the road under her feet. She went down to a platform, stood firmly, and then looked around. She found a stone Buddha statue placed in the semi-concave rock wall. The Buddha statue was severely weathered, and only the crown on the head and the cassock on the body could be vaguely seen. Huashan is mainly Taoist, with the Zhenwu Hall and the Xiyue Temple. No one knows where this Buddha statue came from, and why is it placed in such a hidden place?
Wen Qing, thinking that she was already here, picked up a few rocks and placed them in front of the Buddha statue as a way of burning incense to the Bodhisattva. She clasped her hands together and prayed silently, paused for a moment, and continued to descend. She finally reached the bottom of the valley, where there was a gurgling stream and lush trees.
Wen Qing didn't know where she was going. She was sweating after coming down the mountain. She sat on a rock by the stream, bent down to scoop up water to wash her face, took out some dry food and water from the space, and started to eat lunch. She only climbed the Big and Small Squares and then reached the dangerous part of Huashan. She rested here for a while before climbing the North Peak.
After eating, Wen Qing sat here to enjoy the breeze, only to hear a rustling sound amid the rustling of leaves. She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a snake as thick as a wrist appearing in the grass, crawling towards her. Snakes and insects are active in summer, especially in humid places. Wen Qing broke off a branch and threw it at the snake's head. The snake was frightened and turned around and swam away.
Wen Qing did not delay any longer. He cut off a branch, trimmed off the side branches and leaves, and holding it in his hand, he walked while slapping the weeds on the ground and on both sides of the path to scare away snakes and insects. He then took out a piece of clothing, wrapped his head and face to protect himself from the snakes and insects on the trees, and quickly walked towards the direction of the North Peak.
After walking for more than two hours, Wen Qing stepped onto Baichi Gorge. The narrow stone steps were too narrow to accommodate one foot, but fortunately there were not many tourists on the road, and she climbed up quickly with the help of the iron rope. The scenery of Huashan lies in its danger. Looking up, there is a cliff with an inclination of nearly 8 or 90 degrees, and looking down, there is a cliff thousands of feet high. It took her more than an hour to reach the North Peak. There is a big rock on the top of the North Peak. Looking out, there are rolling mountains nearby, and the Yellow River and Wei River in the distance.
Wen Qing walked along the road at the top of the peak, passing by the Queen Mother Palace and Dulong Temple, but she didn't go in. She went straight to Canglong Ridge. Canglong Ridge is a bare ridge like a knife back, with cliffs on both sides and iron chains on one side with many padlocks hanging on it. It seems that many people come here to make wishes, and she doesn't know whether the wishes will come true. She followed the stone steps to Jinsuo Pass.
After passing Jinsuo Pass, she went directly to the East Peak. Standing on the edge of the rock and looking down, she saw green pine trees dotted on the rugged peaks. The peaks were like blades and blooming petals. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.
She continued walking westward, and after half an hour, she finally reached the summit of the East Peak.
As it was getting dark and the temperature began to drop, she took out a military coat from her backpack, put it on, and leaned against a rock, waiting for the sunset. More and more people came to watch the sunset. She took out a packet of biscuits and ate them slowly with water from the bottle. She saw the sun slowly falling from the clouds, and golden clouds shrouded the continuous peaks. The clouds gradually changed from golden orange to orange, and finally the dark night gradually covered everything.
It was dark and the crowd dispersed. Wen Qing walked towards the woods and entered a space behind a rock. The space was still blue sky and white clouds. She first went to see the crops in the fields. The wheat was almost ripe, and the sorghum, corn and rice could wait a few days. She jumped on the harvester and drove back and forth in the field several times, harvesting more than 50 acres of wheat.
The harvester automatically separates the wheat grains and straw. After raising the dust, the wheat grains are loaded into the barn and the straw is packed into huge stacks in the field. After getting off the harvester, Wen Qing transports the wheat grains to the grain dryer to dry them and then stores them in the warehouse.
Seeing that it was still early, she went to the tea garden, picked some young leaves, and began to fry and roll them with her mental power. Using mental power could make more tea at the same time, and the rolling effect was better. After the rolling was completed, she got up and piled the tea leaves into a rectangle for fermentation. Afterwards, she returned to the small bamboo building to start practicing, and nothing happened all night.
It was past five in the morning and it was still dark. Wen Qing felt that there was no one around, so she left the space wearing her military coat and followed the crowd to the East Peak. Although it was summer, it was still quite cold on Mount Huashan. There were many people waiting for sunrise on the East Peak. Wen Qing found a place to stay. Many people were holding cameras, ready to take pictures of the magnificent sunrise. Then Wen Qing remembered that she didn't seem to have a camera.
Her current camera is still a film camera. She has never used it and has not thought about buying another one. However, she should buy one when she returns. After all, there are many memorable moments in life.
I waited for half an hour, watching the sky gradually turn white, and then watching the red color grow brighter and brighter, until a red sun jumped out of the clouds and spread the morning glow over the mountains.
